Posted by: admin- Party Poker is currently the fourth largest online poker site. Prior to the passage of the Unlawful Internet Gambling Enforecement Act (UIGEA), it was the largest online poker room. After this bill passed, it dropped to number two since it no longer serviced real-money US players. It has since been steadily dropping among the online poker sites. It is the second largest non-US poker site after the iPoker network.

- Party Poker’s rise to popularity is often credited to its aggressive marketing practices in 2003-2005. It was one of the first sites to advertise on US television. It also had an aggressive affiliate program.
- Party Poker was one of the first sites to offer no-limit hold’em cash games. Before that, most sites just had fixed-limit cash games.
- Party Poker is also on the same network as Empire Poker (both are owned by Party Gaming, the parent company). Several years ago, Party Poker used to share a network with several other sites, but Party unilaterally suspended that for awhile since the other sites were stealing Party’s players.
